Night coral polyp tentacles reef ledge

Silhouetted against a faint rim light, delicate coral polyp tentacles extend from the dark underside of a reef ledge. The scene sits in deep shadow within tropical shallows near Cairns during the cool season. A soft haze of plankton particles drifts through the water, blurring the distance and creating a veil of suspended particles. The polyp structure appears as a dark, intricate form with fine, thread-like appendages reaching outward into the void. Light grazes the outer edges of the tentacles, defining their thinness against the surrounding darkness. Tiny, scattered points of suspended matter float in the water column, adding texture to the void behind the subject. at the edge is the sharp, glowing edge of a single tentacle tip catching the ambient glow.
