Honeyed evening light spills across the rusted steel of a signal gantry, illuminating droplets clinging to its weathered surface. Thick diesel soot stains the lower beams, mixing with the fine mist that coats the structure in a gray film. The gantry stands beneath the massive concrete span of a cable-stayed bridge, its cables disappearing into the fading sky. Dry, dusty earth lies beneath the wet metal, contrasting the dampness of the drizzle with the arid ground. The low angle emphasizes the structure's imposing height against the twilight, while water beads slide slowly down the vertical posts. A final bead of moisture hangs precariously from a rusted bolt at the very edge of the frame.
