Winter Moonlight on Amasya Bridge Corridor in under a cable-stayed bridge span in Amasya

Winter Moonlight on Amasya Bridge Corridor

by Sophia Fischer

Cold moonlight cuts across the steel girders of a cable-stayed bridge span in Amasya, illuminating a transmission corridor hidden beneath the deck. Raindrops hang suspended in the air, catching the pale light as a brief sun shower occurs despite the midnight hour. The concrete pillars rise from the dark river below, their surfaces rough and wet with winter moisture. Bare branches of nearby trees press against the steel framework, their leafless limbs stark against the gray sky. The engineered structure dominates the view, its bolts and joints visible in sharp relief. One droplet of water rests on the edge of a metal beam, reflecting the faint silver glow of the sky above.
