Winter Signal Gantry on Silk Road Overpass

Steel beams of a massive signal gantry rise from the asphalt, their surfaces coated in thick layers of wet diesel soot and fine winter mist. Below, heat shimmer distorts the air just above the sun-struck concrete, against the cold gray of the overcast sky. Bright white maintenance floodlights cut through the predawn darkness, casting sharp highlights on the rusted bolts and corrugated metal edges. Red warning beacons pulse steadily against the steel framework, their glow reflecting off the damp road surface. The low angle emphasizes the towering structure, making the industrial bolts appear like giant joints in a mechanical skeleton. One streak of dark oil runs down the vertical support, ending in a puddle that mirrors the flickering light above.
