Metallic Green Leaf Beetle on Nettle Leaf

Soft, diffused light from an overcast sky washes over a wide expanse of wet vegetation beside a tidal inlet near Dera Ismail Khan. Tiny droplets of monsoon rain rest on the serrated edges of a broad nettle leaf, reflecting the gray morning. A leaf beetle with iridescent metallic green armor rests on the leaf's surface, its shell catching the faint ambient glow. The background reveals a blurred stretch of water and reeds, showing the damp, raw atmosphere of the pre-dawn hours. Water beads roll slowly toward the leaf's center vein. The beetle's legs grip the textured green surface firmly.
