Lionfish Drifting Over Volcanic Reef Ledge Bali

Brilliant orange and white stripes define a lionfish suspended in mid-water beside a dark volcanic reef overhang near Denpasar. Hard coastal glare cuts through the water column, illuminating suspended particles that glitter like scattered dust motes. The fish hovers above a jagged ledge where shadow meets the bright, sunlit surface. Rainy season clarity allows deep visibility, revealing the rough, porous texture of the black rock against the soft, fan-like movement of the lionfish's spines. Sunlight fractures across the water, creating a mosaic of bright highlights and deep indigo shadows along the reef structure. A fine trail of silt rests gently on the lower rock face, untouched by the current.
