Clownfish Through Volcanic Arch in Predawn Cobalt in beneath a reef ledge in tropical shallows near Stone Town

Clownfish Through Volcanic Arch in Predawn Cobalt

by Dennis Wolfe

A vibrant orange clownfish with distinct white vertical bands swims through a rough, dark volcanic rock arch. The scene exists in the deep blue predawn darkness beneath a reef ledge near Stone Town. Cobalt light falls through the water, illuminating the fish's smooth scales and the jagged texture of the stone. Tiny suspended particles glitter like dust in the current, catching the faint ambient glow from the surface above. The water remains still, freezing the creature's motion mid-turn. Sharp edges of the volcanic rock frame the bright orange body against the surrounding deep indigo shadows. A small cluster of bioluminescent specks hangs just behind the fish's tail fin.
