Lightning Strike on Lone Tree in Dry Field

Soft overcast light falls through fast-moving cloud bands above a dry field near Victoria, Seychelles. A jagged bolt of lightning forks downward, illuminating the pale bark of a solitary tree standing isolated in the grass. The ground appears parched with brittle, yellowed stalks stretching toward the horizon. Heat haze shimmers across the lower frame, distorting the base of the trunk and blurring the distant vegetation. The sky dominates the upper half with heavy, layered grey clouds pressing low against the landscape. A thin line of white vapor traces the path of the strike, fading into the soft grey mist before it touches the earth. The final shadow of the tree stretches short and sharp across the dry grass.
