Philippine Eagle Perched on Dipterocarp in Dry Season

Bright open daylight floods the canopy where a Philippine eagle grips a thick dipterocarp branch. The bird's dark plumage contrasts with the pale, weathered bark, while its sharp talons sink into the rough surface. Low-hanging clouds drift across the sky, softening the light and casting subtle shadows across the green leaves. A frame-within-a-frame effect forms from intertwining vines and distant foliage, focusing attention on the solitary predator. The dry season leaves the forest floor visible through gaps in the canopy, revealing dusty earth and sparse undergrowth. The eagle's intense gaze is fixed forward, its feathers ruffled slightly by the gentle breeze. One feather detail rests against the rough texture of the branch.
