Lightning Under Storm Clouds in Northwest Territories Fog

Pale blue light falls through thick marine fog, revealing the dark, turbulent underside of a storm cloud hovering low. A jagged vein of lightning snakes horizontally across the grey mass, illuminating the wet air with a faint, electric glow. The scene sits in the polar night despite midday, where the sun remains hidden below the horizon. Fine droplets of drizzle hang suspended in the mist, catching the faint illumination. The cloud base presses down against the low-lying fog, creating a layered depth where the storm meets the damp landscape. A sharp, bright fracture of the lightning bolt cuts through the heavy grey, ending abruptly against a darker patch of cloud.
