Hoarfrost on Bare Branches Malta Fog
Copper-toned light spills over a landscape draped in low marine fog, illuminating a solitary tree heavy with white hoarfrost. Every twig and branch wears a thick, crystalline coat that glimmers against the dimming sky. The view looks straight down, revealing the intricate, star-like spread of the frozen needles against the muted earth below. Soft raindrops from a passing shower rest on the frost, creating tiny, clear beads on the icy surface. The dry season air holds the moisture in suspension, blurring the background into a wash of grey and gold. Dark soil patches peek through the mist near the tree trunk, at the base of the delicate white structure in the rugged Maltese terrain. at the edge is a single, perfect droplet sliding off the tip of a lower limb.
