Fluorescent blue light bounces off wet pavement near a convenience store in Alexandria. Thick green ivy climbs cracked concrete slabs that line the narrow lane. The ground glistens with a thin layer of rain from the early winter drizzle. Puddles reflect the store's harsh glow against the gray sky. Moss fills the deep fissures between the broken stones. A metal drain cover sits half-submerged in the water. The vines twist around jagged edges of the shattered sidewalk. Water droplets rest on the rough bark of the ivy stems. A small puddle near the edge mirrors the red exit sign above.
