Rain-Washed Pier Warehouse Ruin Vietnam in beside ivy-draped masonry in Vietnam

Rain-Washed Pier Warehouse Ruin Vietnam

by Roberto Dean

Wet concrete slabs glisten under the soft, diffused light of a late afternoon sky following heavy rain. Thick green ivy climbs the crumbling masonry walls of the dilapidated warehouse, its tendrils clinging to peeling plaster and exposed brick. Shafts of golden sunlight cut through the humid air, illuminating drifting dust particles that dance above the damp floorboards. Gulls perch on the jagged edges of the broken roof, their white feathers stark against the dark, water-stained wood. The structure stands beside an overgrown channel, where the tide has left a sheen of oil and debris. One rusted hinge hangs loosely from a door frame, swaying slightly in the residual breeze.
