Rain Dripping from Underpass onto Cracked Concrete in at a tram stop in Soroti

Rain Dripping from Underpass onto Cracked Concrete

by Alexa Cannon

Bright midmorning light falls through heavy overcast skies above a tram stop in Soroti, illuminating a wet underpass ceiling where water gathers and falls. Droplets strike the cracked concrete pavement, sending small ripples across the shallow puddles that collect in the deep fissures of the ground. The gray stone surface shows years of wear, with jagged lines running parallel to the tram tracks that stretch into the distance. Soft, diffused illumination highlights the texture of the wet stone and the smooth, dark flow of the water against the rough, dry edges of the concrete. A final drop hangs suspended at the edge of a jagged crack before joining the growing pool below.
