Glass Ice Coating Pine Branches in Swedish Winter

Thick layers of clear ice encrust every twig and needle on pine trees standing against a pale, heavy sky. Flat, diffuse light from a midday overcast turns the frozen limbs into solid glass sculptures. Snow blankets the flat ground below in an unbroken sheet of white, stretching toward a distant, low horizon line where the tree line meets the plain.
