Ice Coated Branches Over Dark Water
Thick layers of clear ice encase every twig and branch, transforming the trees into jagged glass sculptures that hang heavy over a dark lake. The scene unfolds from a high vantage point where the blue hour light reflects off the still, black water below. Low-hanging gray clouds press against the treetops, creating a uniform, somber ceiling over the Ontario winter landscape. The ice glistens with a cold, brittle sheen, catching the faint ambient glow without emitting its own light. Heavy icicles dangle from the thicker limbs, curving downward under the weight of the frozen precipitation. The contrast between the sharp, transparent ice formations and the soft, matte surface of the water defines the visual texture. A cluster of frozen branches in the foreground reflects the deep indigo of the lake surface.
