Flamingos Lift Off Salt Lake Reed Bed
Bright late afternoon light floods the edge of a reed bed near Meknes, illuminating a flock of pink flamingos in mid-ascent. Their wings blur into streaks of rose and white against the pale blue sky. Below, ground fog pools in the low depressions of the salt lake, creating a soft white carpet that contrasts with the sharp, dark reeds framing the shot. The birds stretch their long necks forward, bodies angled upward as they break the water's surface. A wooden gatepost stands in the foreground, its weathered grain and peeling paint forming a rough frame within the image. Dust kicks up from the wet mud where the birds take flight, caught in the harsh sunlight. at the edge is a single ruffle of pink feather caught in the lower right corner, hovering just above the mist.
