Giant Flamingo Wades Near Donkey Cart

Hard coastal glare strikes the scene, bleaching the sand road and casting sharp, dark shadows beneath a donkey cart loaded with dried palm fronds. The cart sits on a narrow track above a glacial stream, its wooden wheels half-buried in the grit. Towering over the vehicle and the stream is a flamingo the size of a giraffe, its pink feathers rendered with the texture of a bird rather than a giant. The massive creature wades through the shallow water, its long legs casting a shadow that stretches across the road, dwarfing the donkey cart. The dry season air hangs heavy, visible in the heat shimmer rising from the sand. The giant bird's neck curves down toward the water, its reflection splitting the stream surface where it meets the cart's shadow.
