Giant Flamingo Wades Near Drumming Circle

Festival daylight bounces off steel trusses and white canvas walls inside a Fukuoka circus tent during midday monsoon. A drumming circle sits on the sandy floor, hands raised above deep bass drums. Outside the open flaps, sea haze softens the horizon where a flamingo the size of a giraffe wades through shallow surf. The bird's pink feathers tower over the human performers, its long legs sinking into the wet sand with deliberate weight. Canvas walls ripple in the breeze, falling across the drummers. The giant bird pauses mid-step, its reflection shimmering on a puddle near the tent edge.
