Tiny points of amber light hover inches above the damp earth, belonging to fireflies navigating the low-hanging mist. The darkness of the surrounding trees frames the glowing insects, creating a pocket of warm intimacy against the encroaching night. Dew rests on the fern fronds lining the trail, reflecting the soft bioluminescence. A cluster of lights drifts upward near a moss-covered stone marker, marking the edge of the fog bank.
