Fireflies Glow Over Geylang Bamboo Grove Water
Twilight settles over the Geylang breakwater, where the dark water mirrors a dense stand of bamboo stalks rising from the opposite bank. Thousands of fireflies drift among the green fronds, their amber points of light pulsing in rhythm with the gentle sway of the monsoon season. The water surface acts as a perfect mirror, doubling the vertical lines of the bamboo and scattering the insect glow into shimmering streaks of gold. Wet concrete edges of the breakwater reflect the dim sky, while the warm coastal air hangs heavy over the scene. The reflection of the glowing grove creates a symmetrical composition where the living light seems to float both above and below the dark waterline. A cluster of fireflies rests on a wet bamboo leaf near the water's edge, their light casting a tiny, distinct reflection on the rippling surface.
