Emerald Grass on Chalk Sea Cliff Durban

Hard coastal glare flattens the texture of the white chalk cliff face, revealing its stratified layers against the bright sky. A thick carpet of emerald grass crowns the precipice, its blades standing rigid in the dry breeze of early autumn. Below, the wave-cut shoreline meets the water in a line of pale foam. Sea haze softens the distant horizon, blurring the meeting point of ocean and sky into a pale blue wash. The sheer vertical drop of the rock creates a stark geometric contrast to the soft, undulating grass line above. Deep shadows nestle into small fissures within the white stone, showing the cliff's massive scale and geological weight.
