Dawn Water Droplet Reflects Izmir Trees

Cold silver light from the first light of dawn settles on the curved, metallic surface of a car hood. One, perfect water droplet rests near the edge, magnifying the inverted image of olive trees and cypress branches from the switchback approach nearby. The midsummer heat haze distorts the reflected foliage slightly, creating a shimmering, fluid distortion within the clear droplet. The car paint appears smooth and dark, absorbing the early morning chill while the droplet catches the pale sky. Along the bottom edge, the reflection of a stone retaining wall anchors the image, contrasting the organic curves of the leaves with the rigid geometry of the roadside barrier.
