Water Droplet Reflects Spring Trees on Car Hood

Steel-blue ambient light washes over the glossy black surface of a car hood near a remote ferry crossing outside Bari. One large water droplet rests prominently in the foreground, its curved surface acting as a convex lens. Inside the droplet, the inverted image of early spring trees appears sharp and detailed, showing pale green buds and bare branches. The car paint beneath the drop is smooth and dark, absorbing the fading light. Across the background, the blurred shapes of distant hills and the ferry terminal fade into the twilight. Leaves skitter across the wet asphalt beside the vehicle, caught in a sudden gust. The reflection within the drop shows the exact texture of the bark, against the fluid sphere that holds it.
