Heavy overcast skies press low against the Rhine Valley, casting a muted copper glow over the spillway chute below. Water rises in fine spray from the turbulent flow, catching the dying sunlight in fleeting sparkles. The massive concrete parapet curves gracefully above, its smooth surface marked by the wear of engineered force. Wet stone reflects the copper-toned light, creating a sharp contrast with the dark, churning water. Mist rests on the base of the structure, softening the hard edges where the concrete meets the earth. one drop of water slides down a vertical channel, tracing a path through the dust on the gray surface.
