Sleet Storm Drain Outfall Dam Spillway South Korea

Early evening light reflects off the dark, churning water at the base of a massive concrete dam spillway in South Korea. Heavy sleet falls in sharp, diagonal streaks across the frame, blurring against the grey stone. A large circular storm drain outlet dominates the foreground, its metal rim wet and slick with condensation. Mist and spray rise from the turbulent water below, clinging to the vertical concrete walls. Strong linear perspective pulls attention from the heavy grate in the immediate foreground down the length of the spillway channel toward the distant, misty horizon. The texture of the rough concrete contrasts with the fluid motion of the rushing water and the fine, frozen precipitation hanging in the air. One droplet rests on the edge of a metal bolt on the drain cover.
