Curved Dam Parapet Over Reservoir Under Overcast Sky

Hard afternoon light strikes the massive concrete curve of the dam parapet, casting sharp shadows across the ribbed surface. The structure rises steeply from the low angle view, dominating the frame with its industrial weight. Above, heavy gray clouds press down, diffusing the sky into a uniform sheet of light that reflects softly on the dark reservoir water below. Steel cables stretch taut along the crest, their metallic sheen catching the harsh illumination. Early autumn leaves in muted browns and golds rest on the distant embankment, against the cold gray of the spillway. The water surface remains relatively calm, mirroring the somber tone of the sky and the imposing geometry of the concrete wall.
