District Heating Pipes Along Dam Spillway

Thick, rust-streaked metal pipes stretch horizontally between weathered concrete apartment blocks, their surfaces slick with recent rain. Below, a spillway channel holds shallow water that mirrors the faint, warm glow of city lights beginning to ignite the evening. Raindrops disturb the water's surface, creating ripples that distort the reflections of the industrial pipes and the grey concrete walls. The low angle emphasizes the massive scale of the infrastructure against the damp, overcast sky. Green moss rests on the base of the concrete pillars, against the orange-brown oxidation on the steel. A final beam of sunlight cuts through the falling rain, illuminating the wet texture of the pipe joints.
