Copper-toned light fills the space beneath a massive concrete viaduct in Denmark. Water drips from the steel and concrete arch onto clusters of green ferns resting on rough masonry. A thin layer of fog hovers near the damp stone floor, softening the edges of the gray pillars. Fresh, unblemished fronds indicate early spring. The arch curves overhead, casting rhythmic shadows across the wet surfaces. The structure looms with civic-scale austerity against the fading sky. A drop of water hangs from the edge of a steel beam, falling onto the ferns below.
