Sodium Lit Trash Rack Leaves Predawn Dam

Amber sodium vapor light washes over a heavy steel trash rack embedded in the concrete spillway of a dam in Bukit Bintang. The grid of rusted bars catches a dense mat of wet, dark green leaves and debris accumulated during a recent gale. Water drips slowly from the tangled vegetation, creating small, rhythmic shadows against the smooth gray concrete. The structure rises vertically, its leading lines guiding the gaze upward into the predawn darkness. Above, a perfectly clear sky offers no clouds, only a deep, empty blue-black void. The wet metal gleams with a slick, oily sheen, against the matte texture of the dry leaves caught in the mesh. One droplet rests on the lower edge of a steel bar, suspended before falling.
