Transmission Towers Mirrored in Peat Pools at Sunset in along a dam spillway in Iran

Transmission Towers Mirrored in Peat Pools at Sunset

by Antonio Burke

Streaks of orange and violet sunset light slice across a wet, dark moorland near a concrete dam spillway in Iran. Massive steel transmission towers rise vertically, their lattice structures reflected in deep, black pools of peat water scattered along the ground. Steady rain creates a fine, continuous mist that softens the edges of the concrete embankment. The water surface acts as a dark mirror, doubling the height of the towers and the angle of the fading sun. Ripples disturb the reflection slightly where raindrops strike the peat pools. The scene combines the rough texture of the black earth with the smooth, gray concrete of the spillway. A long, wet concrete channel runs from the foreground toward the glowing horizon.
