Steam rising from heating pipe trench under Galapagos towers

Deep shadow envelops the ground beneath massive transmission towers, where a concrete trench cuts through a carpet of fallen brown and orange autumn leaves. White steam rises steadily from the open seam of the pipe, drifting upward against the stark silhouette of the steel lattice above. A sharp rim light traces the edges of the metal structures and the swirling vapor, creating high contrast against the dark earth. The ground appears damp and dark, scattered with dry foliage that contrasts with the smooth, grey concrete of the infrastructure. Above, the sky is a deep, unbroken black, completely clear of clouds, showing the isolation of the industrial elements in this unique biogeographic setting. A thin trail of vapor hangs motionless over the trench opening.
