Steam rising pipe trench frozen autumn leaves

Blue hour light reflects off wet concrete along a dam spillway in Novara, where a district heating trench releases thick white steam. Mid-fall autumn leaves hang suspended in midair, frozen perfectly still against the rising vapor. Utility lights cast a cool glow on the gray infrastructure, illuminating the texture of damp stone and the sharp edges of the metal grates. Mist drifts low over the surface, obscuring the ground slightly while the converging lines of the trench draw toward a distant vanishing point. One frozen leaf, orange and crisp, rests against a vertical steel beam, its veins clearly visible in the artificial light. The steam swirls around the suspended foliage, creating a sharp contrast between the moving vapor and the stationary leaves.
