Iraqi Power Plant Cooling Tower Steam Column

Thick white steam erupts from the base of a massive hyperboloid cooling tower, rising vertically against a heavy gray sky. The tower dominates the frame, its concrete surface weathered by time and dust, standing beneath a complex web of steel gantries and utility supports. Low-angle perspective emphasizes the monumental scale of the industrial structure. Diffused sunlight struggles through the factory dust, casting a soft, flat light over the scene. The dead of winter is visible in the pale, lifeless tones of the surrounding ground and the crisp edges of the steam. Dark metal beams crisscross above the tower, creating a geometric cage that frames the rising vapor. A shadow from a nearby gantry falls across the lower concrete curve, highlighting the texture of the aged masonry.
