Steaming Trench Pipe on Windy Istanbul Overpass
Flat noon light reflects off wet asphalt while low ground fog pools in the depression of an open trench. A thick, insulated district heating pipe runs through the center, emitting thick white steam that drifts into the air. The trench walls expose gray concrete and rusted rebar. Scattered autumn leaves rest on the damp earth beside the pipe, their brown and orange hues muted by the overcast sky. The overpass structure looms overhead in heavy steel and concrete, showing industrial scale. Steam rises in erratic columns, disturbed by the wind sweeping across the interchange. A droplet of condensation slides down the side of the pipe insulation, catching the dull light.
