Silhouetted Chiton on Tanzanian Tide Pool Rock

Golden hour light falls through clear water, turning the submerged chiton into a dark, segmented silhouette against the pale rock ledge. The creature clings tightly to the tide-cut surface, its eight shell plates distinct against the stone. Suspended particles glitter in the water column, catching the low sun rays like tiny stars. Cool season air meets the water's edge, where the rock shows signs of constant erosion. The panoramic view shows the depth of the tide pool, with light fading into the shadows below. A faint reflection of the chiton's edge ripples on the water's surface, marking the boundary between air and sea.
