Copper Light on Permafrost Cliff Ice Wedges

Deep violet shadows define the jagged edge of a permafrost cliff face rising from a dark, wave-cut shoreline. Vertical ice wedges carve deep fissures into the earth, their translucent surfaces catching the final copper-toned light of a polar night dusk. Low-hanging clouds press against the sky, diffusing the glow into a soft, ambient haze that wraps around the cliff's silhouette. The frozen ground stretches flat toward the water, devoid of vegetation, showing the stark, geometric fractures of the ice. A sharp line of frost marks the boundary between the dark earth and the pale, glowing fissures, at the base of the scene in the stillness of the Arctic.
