Deep shadow cloaks the steep permafrost cliff face near Oslo, revealing distinct vertical layers of exposed ice wedges that cut through the dark soil. Low-hanging clouds press against the upper ridge, diffusing the pale light of endless summer dawn. A sharp rim of white illumination traces the jagged top edge of the rock, separating the dark mass from the gray sky. The surface texture shifts between smooth, translucent ice veins and rough, crumbled earth. Horizontal stratification marks the geologic history, while the shadowed base remains obscured in cool darkness. at the edge is the faint blue tint visible within the deepest crevices of the ice.
