Sand Drifts in Goa Jail Cell Ruin

Bright midmorning light floods the open courtyard of an abandoned jail cell in Goa, illuminating fine grains of sand that have drifted across the cracked stone floor. The low angle view emphasizes the height of the crumbling brick walls, where patches of white plaster have peeled away to reveal red earth beneath. Green vines creep up the corners, their leaves glistening with moisture from a recent storm that has just cleared. Shadows fall sharply across the sandy ground from the broken archway. A pile of loose debris sits near the cell door, half-buried by the encroaching dune of sand. The texture of the rough masonry rests beside the soft, shifting grains settling in the corner.
