Rwanda Badger Twilight Stream Shadow

Deep indigo shadows cloak the wet grassy bank above a rushing glacial stream in Rwanda. A European badger stands at its burrow entrance, its coarse black-and-white fur rippling under a strong wind that whips the surrounding reeds. A sharp rim of cool twilight light outlines the animal's back and the edge of the earth mound, separating the dark form from the misty background. The soil around the hole is churned and dark with moisture from the wet season. Water churns white below, against the still, fragile silence of the twilight hour. The badger's alert posture and the wind-blown vegetation anchor the scene in a raw, natural moment.
