Rockhopper Penguin Leaping Over Wave-Washed Rock

A rockhopper penguin is frozen mid-air, its black and white plumage stark against a bright, hazy sky. The bird leaps from a dark, wet rock slick with sea spray, its orange beak pointing forward. Below, the ocean churns with white foam crashing against the stone. In the foreground, dry, yellow grasses sway near a narrow game trail where ground fog pools in low hollows. Dappled sunlight falls through overhead leaves, creating shifting patterns of light and shadow across the wet surfaces. The bird's wings are tucked tight, showing the raw energy of the jump. A final drop of water falls from the rock's edge, catching the morning light.
