Springbok Pronking Under Starlight in Uruguay

Predawn darkness wraps a tidal inlet in Uruguay, where a springbok leaps mid-air in a sharp pronk. Faint ground glow illuminates the animal's tawny coat and white underbelly against the deep blue of the night sky. Dramatic clouds stack heavily above, their edges soft and indistinct in the low light. The grass beneath the leaping hooves is short and damp, reflecting the faint ambient light from the horizon. Muscle tension defines the animal's hind legs as they push off the earth. One hoof breaks the stillness of the wet grass, casting a tiny, sharp shadow that anchors the motion in the fragile quiet of the plain.
