North Korean Observatory Dome Fog Night

by Nova Gibson

A red glow illuminates the curved silhouette of a metal observatory dome against a backdrop of deep night. Drifting ground fog blankets the flat terrain below, rising to meet the base of the structure. Converging lines of a concrete path lead toward a distant vanishing point through the mist. The air appears heavy and humid, clinging to the smooth surfaces of the dome. Late summer vegetation is barely visible as dark shapes emerging from the low clouds. Red safety lighting casts a monochromatic hue over the wet concrete and the metallic texture of the dome. A small vent pipe on the dome's surface catches the faint light, revealing a sharp edge against the soft fog.
