Moss Carpeted Staircase in Maryland Ruin in along a vine-choked corridor in Maryland

Moss Carpeted Staircase in Maryland Ruin

by Griffin Lloyd

Thick emerald moss blankets every step of a crumbling staircase, forming a soft, uneven carpet that swallows the original stone texture. The corridor stretches into darkness, framed by vines that cling tightly to the decaying walls. Neon light spills from an unseen source, casting a cool, electric blue glow across the greenery and reflecting off the damp surfaces. Deep, warm shadows pool in the corners, creating a stark contrast against the artificial illumination. The dry season leaves the vines brittle and brown at the edges, while the moss remains lush and vibrant. Layers of steps recede into the distance, disappearing into the heavy quiet of the abandoned space. A faint blue reflection dances on the edge of the lowest step.
