Ivy-Covered Manor Ruin Reflected in Water in among collapsed cloisters near Moradabad

Ivy-Covered Manor Ruin Reflected in Water

by Vincent Baird

Tangled green ivy climbs the crumbling limestone walls of a derelict manor near Moradabad, threading through empty window frames where glass once sat. The structure stands among collapsed stone cloisters, their broken arches framing a shallow pool of still water in the foreground. Early spring light falls through heavy overcast skies, casting a soft, even glow across the weathered surfaces without harsh shadows. The water reflects the gray stone and dark vegetation, doubling the visual weight of the ruin. Layers of depth recede from the immediate foreground of wet stones to the distant, fading silhouette of the manor against the pale sky. Moss rests on the damp base of the walls, marking the slow reclamation of the site by nature.
