Moonlit Glacial River Over Black Volcanic Sand

Silver water snakes through a bed of coarse black volcanic sand, reflecting the pale late afternoon light from a high ridge. Layered foothills rise in the distance near Plaza de Armas, Cusco, their surfaces dusted with winter frost.
