The bright late morning light catches the droplets on the broad blue leaves, against the dark, polished floorboards. Beside her, a low bamboo shelf holds several ceramic canisters and a single calligraphy brush resting on a stone holder, evidence of recent work. A quiet moment of maintenance, with the vibrant flowers standing out against the subdued tones of the traditional interior and the woman’s focused posture.
