Mist Waterfall From Wall Behind Jars in near Cape Town

Mist Waterfall From Wall Behind Jars

by Ellen Correa

Thick gray mist swallows the lower half of a rough stone wall near Cape Town as the sun dips low, casting deep silhouettes. In the foreground, a wooden pantry shelf holds rows of labeled mason jars, their glass catching faint rim light. A jagged crack in the masonry releases a steady, heavy waterfall that cascades down the stone face, defying all plumbing logic. The water flows with raw force, splashing onto the shelf below. Dust motes hang suspended in the backlit air, caught between the jars and the impossible cascade. at the edge shows water droplets clinging to the rim of a glass jar.
