Waterfall Silhouetted Over Mossy Terraces Colombia
by Laurie Le
Honeyed evening light spills across a wide valley floor in Colombia, illuminating the mist rising from a waterfall that cascades over layered, moss-covered terraces. The water flows in a dark, continuous ribbon, its motion blurred into soft streaks against the rugged stone. Low-hanging clouds drift just above the valley rim, catching the final glow of the day. The terraces display varying shades of deep emerald and olive moss, clinging to the wet rock surfaces. The entire cascade stands in sharp silhouette, devoid of surface detail, defined only by the bright, fading sky behind it. One droplet hangs suspended at the very edge of the lowest ledge, catching the last ray of sunlight before the shadows lengthen across the valley.
