Northern Lights Over Manitoba Moonlit Breakwater

by Aurora Horn

Vivid green ribbons of aurora borealis ripple across the pitch-black sky above a rugged stone breakwater. Moonlight reflects off the dark, choppy water, creating a silvery path that contrasts with the deep indigo of the night. The lighthouse beam sweeps horizontally, momentarily illuminating the wet, jagged rocks and the mist rising from the monsoon rains. Cold, dry air hangs heavy, visible as a faint, sharp clarity around the light sources. The aurora dominates the upper right third of the view, its shimmering folds standing out against the faint glow of the moon. One wave crashes against the nearest stone, sending white foam skittering over the dark surface.
